LG
The next generation of LG plasmas will be THX certified. This means that the "out of the box" settings are better than before and in need of little if any tweeking. But if you want go further you can get an ISF technician to tweek it to prefection.
PANASONIC
Panasonic's 150 inch plasma.
SONY
Sony showed a new prototype of their 27" OLED screen. The color spectrum, contrast, detail and brightness exceed the best of any currently makreted set, even the fabulous Pioneer KURO plasma panels. Plus they are very energy efficient.
Shown above are the 11 inch OLED now on sale at Sony Styke stores for a mere $2,500. You might get a slight break when they are released to the big box stores later this year.
Dolby has a new technology which they hope to sell to manafacturers to allegedly improve the contrast of existing LCD screens on movies. It may do that but unfortunantly the display was not convincing as some material on the unimproved screen had more detail and contrast in the dark scenes.
